We are excited to announce that the Kratz Lab has been accepted into the Cancer Biology Graduate Program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. As part of this vibrant research community, we are actively recruiting graduate students passionate about patient-centered cancer research and translational discovery.
The Kratz Lab focuses on understanding and overcoming therapeutic resistance in gastrointestinal cancers—particularly pancreatic and liver malignancies—using cutting-edge tools including patient-derived organoids, CRISPR functional genomics, immune co-culture systems, and epigenetic profiling. Our work aims to advance precision oncology through clinically relevant, biologically rich model systems.
Students joining the lab through the Cancer Biology Graduate Program will have the opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary projects that bridge basic science and clinical impact in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment.
If you are interested in joining our lab or would like to learn more, we encourage you to reach out. We’re happy to discuss our current research, share opportunities for rotation projects, and give you a tour of the lab.
