Austin was born and raised in Southwestern Wisconsin. He graduated from High School at Mount Horeb where he fell in love with the idea of one day working in a research lab. As a student at UW Madison, he got a job as a assistant researcher in Dr. Jim Shull’s Lab studying the genetic susceptibility of estrogen induced breast cancer in the ACI rat model, eventually getting hired as a Research Specialist after graduation. Austin is also a fan of sports and being active outside. He can be found camping and playing competitive men’s fastpitch softball in the summer and often duck hunts and turtle hooks in the fall/winter. He often can be seen with his family including grandparents doing whatever random thing they have going on that day.
