Olivia Wong, a junior in high school, came all the way from Arizona to help us out here in the Kratz lab. She was apart of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center High School Summer Research Internship program and spent 8 weeks in our lab developing new laboratory skills and learning about pancreatic cancer and the scientific process. For her project, she analyzed a CDK7 inhibitor combination drug screen PDAC and was able to find us lead compounds out of the 81 total drugs screened. From these leads compounds, we will now test their activity at greater depth in combination with CDK7 inhibition. She presented her findings at the end of the program along with the other interns.
Thank you for all your help Olivia the Kratz Lab wishes you the best of luck with the rest of your schooling and future career!
