Maria Martinez is an undergraduate student at UW–Madison majoring in Genetics and Genomics. She joined the Kratz Lab in the fall of 2024 as a freshman and is now a sophomore continuing to grow her research experience. Maria has a strong interest in cancer biology and hopes to pursue a career as a surgeon, with the goal of contributing to advances in treatment and patient care. Outside of academics and research, she enjoys spending time with her family watching movies, as well as exploring new foods and restaurants with her friends.
