Austin was born and raised in Central Illinois. Throughout his life, he has always had an interest in science and a deep curiosity about the human body. This passion led him to pursue a career in medicine. In college at the University of Illinois, he worked with Dr. Rhanor in a neurobiology lab studying the aversive stimuli neuronal pathway in octopi. After graduation, Austin worked as a CNA at Carle Hospital in Champaign, IL for a year on a Medicine/Surgery floor before moving to Madison, WI where he worked as an Endoscopy Technician for UW Health. Last year, he began medical school in Iowa at Des Moines University. In his free time, Austin loves to fish, play soccer and basketball, hike, and brew his own beer.
